Songfacts®:

  • Not to be confused with the Laurie Wisefield song of the same name, which was inspired by an incident he would probably rather forget, this "Me And My Guitar" which runs to 3 minutes was co-written by Dice with Ashley Hickin and Jeroen Swinnen, and would have been a worthy winner of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest.
  • The video for the song was recorded in California including Death Valley; Dice said this was the first time he had ever flown.
  • "Me And My Guitar" has a familiar theme - reach for the stars - and is all the more impressive for being written in English. It was first aired on March 7, 2010 in a special programme Eurosong 2010: Een Song Voor Tom Dice!, and took first place in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 Semi-Final 1 on May 25. The Belgian entry finished 6th with 143 points behind the German winner "Satellite" with 246 points, and well ahead of the pathetic UK entry "That Sounds Good To Me" which earned only 10 points! >>
