Songfacts®:

  • This was a single released from Reload, an album recorded by Tom Jones featuring 17 duets with current artists. The song peaked at #3 on the UK singles chart, giving Jones his biggest hit since "A Boy From Nowhere" peaked at #2 in 1987.
  • This song was a collaboration with producer Mousse T, who is a German DJ and producer specializing in house music.
  • "Sexbomb" was a last minute addition to the album. Jones recalled to The Mail On Sunday February 6, 2011: "This song just appeared at the end of the sessions for the Reload album – we had more than enough stuff but I heard a demo of this and I said: 'I've got to do this.' I changed a few words that made it work better. It ended up being the biggest song on the album, and we almost missed it!"
  • The song was used in The Simpsons episode, "C.E. D'oh" when Homer accidentally gives Maggie the song for bedtime. (He'd intended to play it for Marge for Valentine's Day).
