Songfacts®:

  • Keith Richards plays guest guitar on this Blues stomp, which was written by Waits as a rather belated answer song to the Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction." Waits also name-checks "Mr. Jagger and Mr. Richards" in the lyrics.
  • Though Richards and Waits go back to Tom's 1985 album Rain Dogs, Waits told Pitchfork that meeting up with the Rolling Stone again felt "a little weird." "I was really nervous, he admitted. "He came with about 600 guitars in a semi-truck. And a butler. We were in these huge studios in New York, like The Poseidon Adventure. Huge, high ceilings in these rooms like football fields. They'd fill these things up with orchestras and we were in there with five guys. It felt a little weird. He killed me. I was really knocked out that he played on all those things."
  • This was one of four tracks that Richards played on for Bad As Me. The Rolling Stone told Spinner UK about the session, which resulted in the quartet of tunes: "Did that in one afternoon down in Chinatown. I love working with Tom. You never know what he's going to hit you with. There is that element of 'Come on, surprise me' between the two of us."
  • The song's black and white music video sees Waits dancing around the backyard. It was directed by Jesse Dylan, who is the eldest son of Bob Dylan.
