  • Singer-songwriter Tori Kelly's first time on television was as a Star Search contestant at the age of 10. That was followed by a victorious appearance in 2004 on America's Most Talented Kids, where performing Christina Aguilera's "Keep on Singin' My Song" she beat out her fellow young singer, one Hunter Hayes.

The California native later found success via YouTube after she released a string of viral videos. She wrote, produced, engineered, and recorded her first EP Handmade Songs By Tori Kelly in 2012.

2013 found Tori Kelly's career progressing further when she signed on with Scooter Braun as manager. Braun, who shepherded Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande into the spotlight, introduced the singer to the heads of Capitol Records, who was impressed enough to award her a recording contract.
  • This is the first single from Kelly's debut album, which finds her teaming up with Swedish hit-maker Max Martin. Kelly described working with Martin to Billboard magazine as "intimidating" and "amazing." She added: "He's a perfectionist, which I had to get used to. It took three, four days to get the lyrics right."
  • Kelly said: "The deeper meaning of the song is how our generation is always chasing the next thing. Nothing is ever good enough. I'm saying, 'Just chill, trust and be happy with what you've got.'"
