Songfacts®:

  • If anyone had any doubt about the meaning of bubblegum music, this song surely defines it; although neither member of Toy-Box was born until after the heyday of bubblegum, this would unquestionably have been a top ten hit in Britain in 1972.

Sadly (or otherwise!) when "Tarzan & Jane" was released in the UK, in 1999, it flopped. Interesting the bubblegum duo are Danes of Asian and part-Moroccan origin, but English has long been the lingua franca of the known universe. At least Toy-Box play it strictly for laughs, though one has to ask where did she get that voice? >>>
    Suggestion credit:
    Alexander Baron - London, England
  • Despite its failure in the UK, the song charted in several other European countries including the Netherlands (#2), Norway (#3) and Sweden (#8).
