  • Tracy Bonham released "Me Symphony" as part of her Melodeon Music House project, which includes a curriculum to teach kids about music and an album of songs called Young Maestros Vol. 1. The idea is to present musical concepts in a fun, Schoolhouse Rock style.

In this song, she ends up on stage with her instruments and has to improvise. "The message is that you can make music without relying on your old tricks or hiding behind your instruments," she said in a Songfacts interview. "The music comes from within, comes from the moment. It comes from spirit. I get very spiritual when I talk about performance, and I'm trying to impart that onto young people and also people in general. So many fans have come up to me and said, 'I wish I would have played an instrument, but my teacher scared it out of me.' I want to help people realize that they have music inside of them, and it's really not about what you play or how expensive your guitar is. It's your music, you don't need an instrument. You've got music pouring out of you if you let it."
  • Bonham had aspirations of joining an orchestra when she studied violin at the University of Southern California, but she ended up going the singer-songwriter route, a move that paid off when she landed a hit with "Mother Mother" in 1996. In this song, she plays a number of instruments, including violin, guitar, piano and bass.
  • Bonham made a whimsical video for this song where she enters an animated world starting with her arriving sans instruments for a concert, then coming up with a clever performance. This is in line with her Melodeon Music House concept, which uses visuals to accompany the music.
