  • Travie McCoy (from Alternative Press): "In the same vein as 'Need You,' 'Critical' is really personal, introspective subject matter put into an upbeat pop song. It's kind of like a rock song, but at the same time, it has this really shimmery, cute vibe to it. But this song is actually about the end of the world and the apocalypse. It's about how things are going to s--t: natural disasters everywhere - Katrina being one of them - and the [BP] oil spill. I just moved to Miami, and by the time I get home, the beaches are going to be covered in oil. All these crazy things are going on that we kind of ignore. 'Critical' is talking about that stuff in a tongue-in- cheek way. Basically, if the world was to end tonight, f--k it--lets have a beer and watch it all go down."
