Songfacts®:

  • This psych rock track is from Lazarus, the debut solo album by Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy. The song is a collaboration with Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland. McCoy enthused to Artist Direct: "When I was younger, I was a huge Limp Bizkit fan! Wes was like our generation's Gene Simmons!"
  • McCoy explained the song's title to Alternative Press: "'11:34' is kind of an inside joke with my best friend. If you flip over a digital clock when it reads '11:34,' it says 'hell.' We came up with this superstition that if you saw the clock at 11:34, it was bad luck. If it were 11:32, we'd warn each other not to look at the clock. That was just a little shout out to him."
  • McCoy explained the song's lyrical content: "'Superbad' basically sums up my life at this point. It sums up life on the road and enjoying it and enjoying what I do. If I had a theme song, this would be it. For some reason, it gets me hyped and really gassed up to do whatever it is I have to do. To me, it's really anthemic and it's a confidence booster as well. When you listen to this song, it gets you prepared to do anything."
