Songfacts®:

  • This solo charity single by the Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy reflects on his experiences traveling to South Africa, India and the Philippines with MTV's Staying Alive Foundation. It tied in with a documentary that he filmed, Travis McCoy's Unbeaten Track, which aired on MTV on World AIDS Day, December 1 2009.
  • McCoy told Billboard magazine: "There was a lot of pressure. One, to make a song that people will want to download. Two, since it is a charity track, I wanted to keep the cheese factor to a bare minimum and make sure it's sincere and from the heart. Three, it needed to capture all the emotions I felt during the trip, and four, I needed to speak for all the inspirational people I met on my journey. So it was a lot of pressure."
  • The song was made available as a digital download on iTunes with proceeds going to MTV's Staying Alive Foundation, which promotes HIV/AIDS prevention.
