Songfacts®:

  • Songz compares a woman's body to a swimming pool on this R&B jam. "Yeah, girl I love the way your body talk," he croons. "Come a little closer, just like that. Keep on talkin' girl, you got me wanting to go. Deeper than you'll ever know." The Virginia native goes on to replace sex positions with swimming techniques when he sings, "Watch me stroke, left stroke, right stroke, back stroke."
  • Songz penned the song with his background singer Najja McDowell whilst long term collaborator Troy Taylor (who has also worked with Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston) and new name Josh Garrison provided the lush soundscape.
  • The song was released as the third US single from Songz's fifth album, Chapter V, on August 14, 2012. Chapter V debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, marking Songz's first ever chart-topping set. Each of Songz's albums have had improved placings on the Billboard 200, their chart-position progression proceeding as follows:
    2005 I Gotta Make It #20.
    2007 Trey Day #11.
    2009 Ready #3.
    2010 Passion, Pain & Pleasure #2.
    2012 Chapter V #1.
  • Chapter V isn't the first album of that title to top the Billboard 200. Back in 2005, Staind reached the peak position with their same-named set.
