  • This is a negative song with a positive intention. Trivium lead singer Matt Heafy explained in a track by track: "I encourage listeners of this song to use the subject matter to put it toward something in their lives that's a negative force, whether it's a person, a thing or an event. Or an obstacle in their lives.

For me it was about a person, and I used the song as the negative outlet for this. I turned that negative thing in my life into something positive."
  • Matt Heafy's roots are in punk rock, with is reflected on this track. "I love the energy on this song," he said. "I feel it hints back to my pre-metal days. I feel that musically it shows a bit of that punk side. Musically it has that punk attitude, but vocally it has that traditional classic metal: vibrato and attack. So it's a very nice pairing. I think it's a very Trivium thing, but it's unlike anything we've ever had Trivium-wise."
