Songfacts®:

  • Twice take fans on an emotional journey with "I Got You," a soaring tribute to their staunch friendship. The lyrics paint a picture of unwavering support, emphasizing the idea that no matter the storm, they'll always be there for each other.

"'I Got You' is about the friendship our members share and the whole journey we've been on," Nayeon told Apple Music. "Even when we were lost or struggling, we had each other to rely on. This song's about sticking 'together' no matter what comes next."

Sana added: "There's a line: 'No matter what you got me, I got you.' It's saying we're always going to be there for each other, either as a family or a team."
  • The music video sees the nine members snuggled together inside a ship's cabin as it's tossed by a fierce storm. Despite the rough seas, their faces remain calm and happy, a testament to the strength they find in their bond.

The clip takes a fantastical turn with a dreamy animated sequence where the girls dive beneath the waves, frolicking with colorful marine life.
  • Jonah Marais and Daniel Seavey of the American boy band Why Don't We wrote the song with Dwilly, Jake Torrey and Lexxi Saal.
  • Dwilly also produced the track. David Bradley "Dwilly" Wilson is a Boston-based producer and DJ who has also worked with Yung Gravy ("Betty (Get Money)") and Sueco ("Paralyzed"). Dwilly's bubbly synth-pop beat for "I Got You" feels like a double-barreled blast from the past, channeling the energy of A-ha's iconic 1985 hit "Take On Me" with a fresh twist.
  • Twice released "I Got You" as their third original English-language single on February 2, 2024, through JYP Entertainment and Republic Records. It follows "The Feels" and "Moonlight Sunrise."
  • "I Got You" is the lead single from Twice's six-track EP, With YOU-th. The title itself underscores the theme of togetherness throughout the album, with "YOU" referencing the unbreakable bond between the members.
  • With YOU-th debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated March 9, 2024. Twice became the third all-female Korean group in the 2020s to achieve this feat, following BlackPink's Born Pink (2022) and NewJeans' Get Up (2023). Before BlackPink, the last all-female group to lead the chart was the American act Danity Kane with Welcome To The Dollhouse, which bowed at #1 on the April 5, 2008, chart.
