Songfacts®:

  • Vocalist Sam McTrusty told The Sun the story of the song: "That was written in the studio while we were recording. I've heard about songs which were written in five minutes, and it's the first time I done that – and the first time I've cried writing a song. It comes from a personal experience."

"Music has generally been therapy for all of us and an escape and that's why we decided to make this record is so uplifting and fun," he added. "So even though 'Oceans' is a sad song, it's still quite hopeful."
