Songfacts®:

  • Young Money rapper Tyga's fourth single from his second album, Careless World: Rise of the Last King features his label boss Lil Wayne. The cut was produced by Dnyc3 of League Of Starz.
  • Tyga's real name is Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson. His moniker is an acronym for Thank You God Always.
  • "Faded" has no particular message, it's just a vibe between Tyga and Wayne. "At first it was just a mixtape joint, and I was like, 'Man, I might want to save this for my album, this is one of those joints'," the Young Money MC recalled to MTV News. Wayne, who was recording in the next room at the time, overheard it and wanted in. "That's how we work: Birdman in one studio, I'm in another studio, Wayne's in another. We just all in a bunch of different rooms," Tyga said. "He did a verse on it and I was like, 'We gotta shoot a video.' "
