Songfacts®:

  • This is the introductory track to Igor. The song finds Tyler, the Creator explaining how to listen to the album in order to ensure that its full emotional impact is felt.

Ridin', ridin' 'round town, they gon' feel this one
Got my, got my, got my, got my eyes open

According to Tyler, the listener should engage in subconscious activity like driving so that all of their attention can be placed on the album. He said: "Some go on walks, some drive, some lay in bed and sponge it all up. Whatever it is you choose, fully indulge. With volume."
  • The Igor album tells the story of Tyler's lover leaving him for his ex-girlfriend. The record is named after the hunchbacked character Igor, who pops up in various Gothic horror stories, mainly as a lab assistant or villain. He represents the angrier side of Tyler's heartbreak that comes out later in the disc such as on the ninth track "What's Good."
  • This song contains uncredited vocals from Lil Uzi Vert. The rapper also wrote the song with Tyler. Solange, who also worked with Tyler on the track "I Think," supplies additional vocals.
  • The track samples a couple of instrumentals: the 1970 track "Attention" by Head West and Dam-Funk's 2015 tune "Scatin' (Toward the Light)."
  • Igor debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200, becoming Tyler's first US chart-topping album.
