Songfacts®:

  • "September Sun" is a reflection on a relationship that has long soured yet still haunts the singer (Peter Steele). You can hear Steele scream the name Elizabeth during the chorus, a reminder of the love lost. A person can easily relate to the emotions of the singer as many have an "Elizabeth" in their lives. >>>

  • Running 9:47, this song starts with piano before blasting into the full instrumentation. Unusually, Steele isn't the only lead vocalist on the track, as guitarist Kenny Hickey also sings.
  • The song is from the Dead Again album, which ended up being Type O Negative's last. In 2010, Peter Steele died when his heart gave out at 48.

  • Wilde from The Land Of The Frost Giants@Ozymandias from Earth, As I understand it, He is speaking a completely made-up language from his completely made-up country. You may enjoy this song in whatever way it speaks to you but it's true meaning may Forever be lost. A linguist may one day decipher his language, but I wouldn't hold my breath, lest you join Peter and may ask him yourself. Prolly even then He'll say it was a joke
  • Ozymandias from EarthDoes anyone have insight, decoding or backwards isolated tracks from "September Sun"? It sounds like he's speaking pretend German in a mad, Hitler-like voice with crowd cheering effects. And there are clearly some backwards parts, most clearly at the end.

I know Type O had a backwards prayer whispered in the intro to "Creepy Green Light" so I figured someone had to have figured this out too.

It seems loaded with more Easter eggs than Beatles songs.
  • Pryce from Litchfield, NhI love Type O Negative! This is my favorite song by them!!!!! It reminds me of a love that I lost...
  • Cain Vampyricus Carr from Nod, InI know what that is like, due to the fact that i am seperated from my son. but alas... it is NOT an elizabeth. however this relationship has made me go crazy, I spent a month in a hospital for observation because I had stated that I wanted to go there or I was going to go on a rampage, look at me now, I have made good progress, I have not hurt anybody since.
