Songfacts®:

  • According to Pete Way in his autobiography A Fast Ride Out Of Here..., the uptempo group composition "Boogie For George" was the band's breakthrough single, although not in the UK; it was big in France and Germany. Recorded at Rickmansworth, Way did not say who George was, and it may be that in the interim he forgot due to the copious amounts of cocaine and alcohol he ingested. When it was re-released in 1994, the title was shortened to "Boogie". In 1970 it was released on the Beacon label backed by "Treacle People." >>>
