Play Video

Songfacts®:

  • Running to exactly five minutes, this Mike Chapman/Phil Mogg/Pete Way composition is track 6 (Side 2, Track 2) on the 1981 album The Wild, The Willing And The Innocent. It was also the first single from the album; the radio edit runs to 4 minutes 10 seconds and is backed by "Long Gone."

According to Pete Way in his autobiography A Fast Ride Out Of Here..., he didn't realise Neil Carter could play sax until he overdubbed it on "Lonely Heart," something he was clearly not pleased with, though fans may disagree. Neil played rhythm guitar and keyboards for UFO from 1980-83. >>
