  • Here, Usher reveals that he is a sucker for romance. The problem is that he's a compulsive cheater and can't stop himself from straying.

I love love, I'm just bad at it
I just can't escape all of these bad habits
I had way too many one nights, yeah
I keep messin' up my love life

Usher is anguished about his bad behavior and asks his girl for forgiveness and to pray for him. At the same time, he isn't ready yet to commit himself to one woman.

Well, now you got to pray just a little
Make a way, just a little
'Til the day I finally figure it out
Don't know what all these emotions about
  • Usher wrote the song with the brothers Theron and Timothy Thomas, who are also known as R City. The duo's previous collaborations with Usher include his singles "I Don't Mind" and "No Limit." They have also worked with the likes of Miley Cyrus ("We Can't Stop") and Iyaz ("Replay") as well as having their own hit song, "Locked Away."
  • Production is courtesy of Pierre Medor (Romeo Santos' "All Aboard," Usher's "Looking 4 Myself") and Brandon "Lxrd" Ross (Jacob Latimore's "Campaign").
  • The Chris Robinson-directed music video sees Usher fighting for love and busting some of his classic smooth dance moves. Robinson has helmed previous clips for many R&B/hip-hop acts including Alicia Keys ("Fallin'") and Lil Wayne ("How To Love").
  • Usher wed his first wife, stylist Tameka Foster, in August 2007, but split from her two years later. The singer then married his longtime girlfriend and manager Grace Miguel in September 2015, but filed papers for divorce three years later. During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show to promote "Bad Habits," Usher told Kelly the track addresses his two divorces.
