  • Wage War guitarist and co-vocalist Cody Quistad wrote "Magnetic" about a particular type of attraction - one of those maddening, irresistible forces that drags you back in despite every ounce of common sense screaming "run away!"

"Despite knowing what may be best, we're pulled back to a feeling that inevitably takes control," he said. "Fate decides our future."
  • "Magnetic" was the lead single from Wage War's fifth album, Stigma, for which the Florida rockers teamed up with Los Angeles producer Drew Fulk.

"Cody will come with a demo, and Drew will see a whole different side of it," lead vocalist Briton Bond told Rock Sound. "It goes from a song I thought was a 10/10 to a 12. He helps us to step out of the box, especially with me vocally."

Fulk has an eclectic resumé, having worked with everyone from rappers Kevin Gates and Lil Peep to rock acts Disturbed and Highly Suspect.

"He works with so many different artists as well, from hip-hop to pop to metal; he doesn't get burned up from doing the same thing all of the time," said Bond. "It's also cool to have a producer asking how stuff is going down live rather than it just being another job. He really cares."
  • "Magnetic," released on March 21, 2024, hit #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart five months later. That's quite an upgrade from their previous best on the tally, when "Circle the Drain" peaked at #13 in 2022. Looks like that magnetic pull worked not just on the band but on listeners as well.
