Songfacts®:

  • Port Arthur, Texas native Wash released this French Montana featuring track as his debut single after signing to Interscope. Before getting a recording contract, Wash juggled working at a refinery with making music. He told Billboard magazine how he combined the two. "I used to do a lot of YouTube videos, and that's actually how my writer and mentor (Chief Tone) found me. Right after work, I would just do videos until about 4 in the morning."

"At work, if an idea hit me, I'd ask somebody to cover and run to what we called the 'Johnny on the spot' (portable toilet)," he added. "We weren't supposed to have phones, but I kept mine, and I'd just sing an idea into my phone and hold on to it until I could turn it into a video."
  • The term "thot" is an acronym for "that ho over there." This song finds Wash singing of not trusting "thots" because as soon as the liquor is gone she's on to the next person who will buy it for her. He defines the slang word in his second verse:

A thot is a girl that look for bottles as soon as she come in the club
You can find her at my table flirting with the ballers tryna go for a cup
