  • This fast-paced rocker about the dangers of drugs and addictions features a vocal contribution by John Cooper of Skillet, who also executive produced the album. Frontman Justin Cordle told Loudwire about the collaboration: "He was in town with Skillet, so he swung by for a couple of days and did a track with us and I thought it was great. He let us pick the song and said, 'Tell me what song you want to do' and we picked the arrangement and as soon as I got to 'Zombie' it was a no brainer. Plus, they have a song called 'Monster' anyway, so it just seemed like a good fit. And when I got the track back, I was just so excited to hear his uber-raspy rocker voice on a song that I wrote. That's kind of a dream come true to have John sing on our album."
  • It was actually Cooper who discovered We as Human: "Skillet was playing an arena show and our road manager was working it," Cordle recalled. "He handed them an EP we had produced. John Cooper listened to it that night, and he just loved it—he said it punched them in the face. He called [Skillet manager] Zach Kelm and said, 'I think you should work with this band.'" From there, an introduction to Atlantic Records wasn't far away.
