Songfacts®:

  • The first single from We Came As Romans' eponymous album finds singer Dave Stephens recalling more innocent days. Asked by Kerrang! what inspired this throwback to bygone times, the vocalist replied: "we write a song about our past on every record. It's necessary to remember those times to move forward."
  • The song's music video was directed by Nathan Williams, who also helmed the clip for the band's song "Regenerate." Asked about the visual's concept, Stephens replied: "Our characters are surrounded by destruction and darkness, they pulled themselves out by following hope. We have to stop living in the shadows."
