Songfacts®:

  • According to Wednesday 13 (Joseph Poole), this song was inspired by the 1990 movie Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer, which is about Henry Lee Lucas, who may have killed hundreds of people in his lifetime.

Regarding his affinity for this film genre, Wednesday told Songfacts: "Since childhood, I've always liked horror movies and I've incorporated it into everything that I like. So when I started hearing bands like Alice Cooper, it was horror. Not all of his stuff, but a majority. He had Welcome to My Nightmare, the Constrictor album cover, so it was combining horror with music. But it was never anybody that did it the way that I wanted to do it. In my mind I wanted to just go full horror." (Here's our full Wednesday 13 interview.)

  • Mickey Knox from Route 666, NmWhat is it about heavy metal bands and serial killers anyway? Just wondering. Okay on to the song it's not my favorite by a long shot but then again my musical taste changes frequently.

"I'll take a piece of pie and a cup of coffee".
  • Joel from Evergreen, WaI wouldn't doubt it one bit. HLL, Ottis Toole, and too many to name had that curse.
