Songfacts®:

  • With lyrics about a daddy, a little boy and a fantasy, this song is often thought to be about child molestation. The band admits that the song "has a perverted side," but claims it is really an homage to grandiloquent songs like Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust."
  • Ween performed this in It's Pat: The Movie. The audience is swaying to the music, and Pat is naked, hanging from a scaffold during the concert. >>>

  • Beyonder010 from AustinAnyone that doesn't see that it is clearly about kiddie diddling is afriad to look into the lion's eye. Every line leads to that most evident cocnclusion. They went to a place most dont want to follow, separating the men from the boys... if you will.
  • Lettie from OregonSomeone made a video for this song that was all clips from the animated movie "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" from 1979. The song's lyrics and sentiment seem to fit that story really well. I would say that they are singing about a fantasy story like that rather than actual child molestation. I mean, chill out. If you like the show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and season 4's musical and song "The Nightman cometh" then you got nothing to say about this song. "The Nightman Cometh" is very clearly about child molestation. But it is darkly funny and a well composed song, just like this song (whether it's about child molestation or not; which it isn't).
  • Levi from ArizonaIf you think this song is about child molestation then you need to get your head checked. That's far, even for Ween. This song sounds more like accepting death. A young boy (or an old man, who is still his father's little boy) talking to his father's spirit on his deathbed.

"Stay calm little dreamer and drift off into dreams
The gentle kiss of night is better than it seems
    It's just around the corner
Close your eyes and soon you'll be with me"

Clearly about the father telling his son not to be hesitant about embracing death so that he can join him in the afterlife.
  • Sean from Melb, AustraliaI don't get how it mocks "Bohemian Rhapsody" in particular. Seems more like they are bagging queen by saying that their fantasy would be to rape a little boy.
  • Ryder from Patricksburg, InWeen are underrated musical geniuses. This song rules!
  • Izabela from Rockville, MdCome on people!!! If one opens their eye when they are sucking d--k, what do they stare at?? A lion!!! Geeeeez. Then you know what the "candy" and the "surprise" are! You know those hard candies with something juicy inside? Yeah! You've never been a kid, uh... And I've seen Deaner make this circle with his thumb and index finger when they sing "don't get too close to my fantasy"... which was the last part of the puzzle that I hadn't figured out on my own....
  • Eric from Detroit, MiTrue Bohemian Rhapsody released in 75 but wasn't it rereased in the early 90's for the Wayne's World movie? So maybe that's what that person is thinking.
  • Howardc from Fairbanks, AkBohemian Rhapsody by Queen was released in 1975. Pure Guava by Ween was relased in 1993. That's a little more than a year.
