Songfacts®:

  • "Abracadabra" is a collaborative song by Wes Nelson and Craig David. They sing of falling under the spell of another person, even though they know it might not be good for them. The repeated "abracadabra" suggests a sense of magic or illusion, perhaps hinting at the intoxicating nature of this relationship.
  • RNDM Beats and Mike Brainchild produced the song. It blends Wes Nelson's modern pop and R&B influence with Craig David's signature smooth vocals and nostalgic UK Garage vibes.
  • While "Abracadabra" officially surfaced on February 2, 2024, its roots can be traced back to late 2023, fueled by a chance encounter in the same recording studio. As Wes Nelson explains, the spark originated when Craig David invited him to perform at one of his Ibiza summer shows.

"Growing up, Craig was a huge inspiration for me," Nelson shared. "So, when the opportunity to collaborate in the studio arose, it was an absolute no-brainer!"

The connection extended beyond mutual respect. "In the past, there have been some comparisons between the two of us as singers, we're on a similar sort of wave and clearly it's a collaboration that people wanted," Nelson said. "We made the whole song start to finish in the studio - it felt really natural."
