Songfacts®:

  • Wes Nelson first rose to fame in 2018 when he finished in fourth place on the fourth series of the ITV2 dating reality series Love Island. Alongside Megan Barton Hanson, Nelson took part in the 11th series of Dancing On Ice the following year, finishing runner-up. However, his long-term dream was to be a successful singer and in August 2020, Nelson announced that he had signed a solo deal with EMI Records. This song, featuring his own brand of rap and R&B, was released on September 17, 2020.
  • The song is about Nelson's tunnel vision in achieving his goals in life. As he devotes himself to doing his own thing, he believes he will catch a wave and the money will start rolling in.
  • Nelson told Wonderland he wrote and recorded this song in his friend's spare bedroom. He explained that after splitting with his ex at the beginning of the Covid lockdown, he moved into his pal's house. At one point his friend pointed out to him, "Wes, you do realize you haven't left the front door of the house for six weeks now?" Nelson had been focusing on writing and recording music all day, seven days a week.
  • South London rapper Hardy Caprio joins Nelson on the track. After Nelson played him "See Nobody," Caprio immediately caught the vibe. He wrote his verse for the song the very same day.
  • Ayo Beatz supplied the production. The beatmaker's other credits include Chip's "Take The Lead."
  • The song's music video features the only Batmobile in the UK. One of Nelson's contacts arranged for him to borrow the one used in the Christian Bale Batman movies.
