Songfacts®:

  • The closing track of American alternative rock group Wilco's eighth album, The Whole Love, is a 12 minute folk rock droner, which finds frontman Jeff Tweedy meditating on mortality.
  • Jane Smiley is an American novelist who won the Pultzer Prize for her 1991 novel, a domestic drama titled A Thousand Acres. Mojo magazine asked Tweedy to explain the connection between Jane Smiley's boyfriend and One Sunday Morning. He replied: "I did my best to capture what I felt was poignant about a conversation I did indeed have with Jane's engaging, friendly and wise boyfriend. Other than that there is no connection."
