Songfacts®:

  • This song features former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger whom will.i.am has known for much of her career. The Black Eyed Peas leader revealed during a Google+ Hangout that he'd wanted Scherzinger to join his group, but her ex-boyfriend said no and Fergie eventually took the spot.

Will added that he helped Scherzinger joined The Pussycat Dolls. The rapper explained that he recommended the singer to Interscope boss Jimmy Iovine, who was looking for a lead vocalist for the project. "One day she calls me up and is like, 'will, I want to do this audition. Can you get me in?'" said will.i.am. "So I was like, 'Yo Jimmy I know this girl that will be dope for the Pussycat Dolls'.

"So I introduced him to her and that's how she got into the group. It's like, me and Nicole - no matter what I've been through in my career - she's been there."

Scherzinger jumped in saying: "Pretty much will and God have been the authors of my life so far."
