Songfacts®:

  • WSTRN is a West London-based R&B/rap hybrid group consisting of cousins Akelle Charles and Haile plus Louis Rei. Akelle's brother is singer-songwriter Sirach Charles, who records under the name of Angel and had a UK Top 10 hit in 2012 with "Wonderful."

Louis explained to OfficialCharts.com that as well as referring to their West London origins, they also chose their band name, "because it's West's TURN to shut down the scene and take over!"
  • This is WSTRN's debut single, which came together as a result of a jam session. Louis Rei told The BBC: "Basically, we was all just in the studio. We didn't even go in there to make the song. We was actually just chilling and going through some beats. Then Haile went in the [vocal] booth and laid down the chorus. We was like, "woah, what's going on here?"
