Songfacts®:

  • Wu-Tang Clan's first collective single in three years is led off by two tough verses from Method Man and Raekwon, before longtime Wu affiliate Redman spits some bars. Inspectah Deck and Masta Killa then conclude the cut.
  • Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues was entirely produced by DJ Mathematics. His instrumentation for this song samples The Diplomats' 1969 track "I've Got The Kind Of Love."
  • The Navegante-directed video features the Wu members and Redman spitting their bars while a hooded figure carries a mysterious box which he doesn't allow anyone to touch.

"The concept of the video is based on a Wu box and inside the Wu box is the secret to Wu's energy," explained DJ Mathematics about the clip's concept to Complex. "It's sacred but at the same time we want to share it so we give it out piece by piece. But there's always someone who wants to take too much for their own selfish reasons. All of that transpires in the video."
  • The three surviving members of soul group the Diplomats hit the Wu with a lawsuit claiming their producer, DJ Mathematics, borrowed the melody, lyric and rhythm of "I've Got the Kind of Love" without their permission. The Diplomats requested an injunction to stop Wu-Tang from performing and profiting off of the song plus back royalties from the sale of "People Say" to date.
