Songfacts®:

  • Released as the lead single from Apple Venus Volume 1, this is frontman Andy Partridge's favorite XTC song. He explained in a Reddit AMA: "That ticks a lot of boxes, and I think we finally climbed on a podium level with The Beatles with that number - if that's not too immodest to say. I also loved arranging the orchestral ideas."
  • Arranger and composer Steve Sidwell did the trumpet solo. Sidwell is a Grammy winner, earning the Award for orchestrating and arranging the Broadway and West End musical Beautiful – The Carole King Musical. The soundtrack won Best Musical Theater Album.
