Songfacts®:

  • "Arms Around You" started off as a collaboration between XXXTentacion and his friend Brazilian R&B/pop artist Rio Santana and was initially recorded for Santana's Potions EP.

A few months later XXXTentacion was shot and killed outside a motorcycle shop in Deerfield Beach, Florida and plans were hatched for a posthumous album from the singer/rapper. Lil Pump and Rae Sremmurd's Swae Lee both added some rhymes while Colombian singer Maluma contributed a verse in Spanish replacing Rio Santana's one. The reggaeton-tinged track was completed with production by Skrillex, Mally Mall and Jon FX .
  • XXXTentacion's hook is part English and part Spanish and it serves as a sort of continuation from X's ? track "I don't even speak spanish lol."
