  • Michael Wayne Atha, better known by his performing name of Yelawolf, is an American rapper from Gadsden, Alabama; the name Yelawolf is a reference to his Native American roots. For the first single released from his debut studio album, Trunk Muzik: 0 to 60, Yelawolf teamed up with fellow Alabama-born rapper Gucci Mane. He told MTV News that the two rappers clicked when they came together to record this song. Said Yelawolf: "It was dope. With as many features as I've done, I have yet to work with the artist in the studio, with all of them except for Travis [Barker]. Actually bringing [Gucci] to the studio and getting in the booth with him on some real old-school hip-hop sh--, sharing one mic, it was dope, man. That's the best vibe to me. Being that he's from Alabama just makes it extra special."
  • Yelawolf is an avid skateboarder and made attempts at a professional skateboarding career but was forced to abandon it due to injuries. He began releasing mixtapes independently in 2007 and after grabbing the attention of the major labels he signed with Interscope Records in 2010. is the second single from his debut studio album, Trunk Muzik: 0-60.
  • Rather than recruiting a well-known name for the song's hook, Yelawolf reached out to a friend. He explained to Billboard magazine: "I called my homie's girlfriend up in the studio, she said the 'I just wanna party' line, and once we got that, we blew smoke in the air, popped open a beer and just fooled around with it."
  • Motion Family directed the song's music video. Yelawolf told MTV News: "We came up with the concept like 'Let's just roll tape. Let's throw a crazy house-party and just roll tape.' And that's what we did. We called everybody we knew. Got kegs, got a bunch of beer, a bunch of DJs, some crazy white girls for the 'go white girl' line. They did go crazy by the way."
