Songfacts®:

  • In June 2015 YG was shot three times in the hip at a Los Angeles recording studio. Here, he details the frightening incident which left him hospitalized and how it's haunted him since.

I can't sleep at night this s--t uncomfortable
Having nightmares of me coming for dude
Having a hard time putting together two and two
They was in a brand new truck, somebody sent them dudes
They knew the code to my gate that was awkward

Throughout his verses, a paranoid YG attempts to come up with possible reasons why he was shot and by whom.
  • YG recorded the track almost as soon as he got out of the hospital. He recalled to Genius:

"Went to the studio again and everybody was talking about what happened. Niggas don't know. Ain't nobody said nothing. So we talked about it for like a hour or two.

After we got done with the conversation, I just told [DJ Swish] to play a beat. He played another beat and then he played that beat. And when that beat came on, I was just like 'Who shot me?' That's how the record came in. I started just going in."
