Songfacts®:

  • "Predictable" evolved from a jam into a song one nighttime when frontman Josh Franceschi was drunk and began spitting balling lyrics. The singer doesn't hold back as a result of his intoxicated state. He told Kerrang:

"There's a nasty line or two on there, but that's how I felt at the time. When I write something nasty, it's in the moment and it's gone forever. But it doesn't matter who you are or what you do in life, people will let you down, lie to you or be dishonest with you, or f--k you over dash and that song is your anthem. I had no other choice. I had no hope in hell of making that song positive. It's all so natural. That's how the whole record feels."
