Songfacts®:

  • This is the first single from British rock band You Me At Six's second album, Hold Me Down. Vocalist and songwriter Josh Franceschi told Virgin.com this is the track he is most proud of on the album. He explained: "I think that's a really good song, I think it's got a really big chorus. It's the songs like that I particularly had a lot of part of writing 'cause I think what is really good about this CD is we really stepped it up musically and I just wanted to make sure that we had like a s--t load of harmonies and stuff to really make the songs sound bigger."
  • Josh Franceschi (from Kerrang!): "It was a strange one, because it started with this riff Max (Helyer, guitar) came up with, and it wasn't like anything we'd ever done before. But we really liked it and pieced the song together when we were on tour in Europe. When we finally finished it, we all thought we had never written anything as good or as catchy."
  • The music video was shot at Brixton Academy in December 2009. It was directed by the actor Nick Bartlett, who is known for his roles in The 51st State and Gangs of New York. Franceschi told Kerrang! the shoot was the "worst 15 hours of our lives." He explained: "We'd just gotten back from a two and a half month tour of America the day before, and if you see the additional footage from the video it's just us sleeping. We were shattered."

"But that video was our first experience of standing on the stage of Brixton Academy, and that does make it a bit more special."
