'Medication' is a comment on how confusing all that is, especially for young people."

  The English artist added that he had two goals for "the Medication" clip, send a message and mess with the listener's mind. Or, in his own words, "Shining a light on darkness happening in the real world, yet leaving people thinking 'what the f--- did I just watch.'"
• Yungblud was 20 years old when this song was released in 2018 on his debut album, 21st Century Liability, but he had already released a few singles by that point and had cultivated his eye-catching look. He built an audience in the UK pretty quickly. At first it was just small crowds, but they knew the words to his songs - a sign that he was making a connection. By the time he released his next album, Weird! in 2020 (during the pandemic), he had much bigger fanbase, enough to send the album to #1 in the UK.
