Songfacts®:

  • This song was written by Zac Brown along with Niko Moon and Al Anderson. Niko Moon is a songwriter and producer from Atlanta, who co-penned many of the Jekyll + Hyde tracks. Al Anderson was the lead guitarist of the rock band NRBQ in the 1970s and 80s before becoming a songwriter. He has scored cuts on some of country's biggest artists albums, including Diamond Rio ("Unbelievable"), Tim McGraw ("The Cowboy in Me") and Vince Gill ("Next Big Thing").
  • Zac Brown spoke about the song to iHeartRadio: "'Loving You Easy' to me, is a tip of the hat to that Philly soul and Motown era," he said. "It's a modern-day oldie. Even the modulation going into the last chorus is a tip of the hat to old Stevie Wonder and the Jackson 5."

"But it's also about respect to our ladies in the home - just being natural," Brown continued. "It's not about getting all fixed up, dress on and makeup and everything. It's just about the beauty of a woman in her natural state. It's a great, great feeling that a guy has when he sees his lady happy and content. This song is really about capturing the spirit of what that is."

"It's short, just like an old song, too," he added. "A lot of the Beatles' hits were around two minutes long. "Loving You Easy" is two and a half minutes long. It comes in like a summer breeze... and it's gone."
  • The black-and-white visual was shot in Venice Beach, California and filmed by photographer and film director Danny Clinch. His numerous video credits include ones for Bruce Springsteen ("Devils & Dust"), The Black Keys ("Little Black Submarines") and Pearl Jam ("Mind Your Manners," "Sirens"). The female star of the clip is played by Crisis and Grown Ups 2 actress Halston Sage.
