• The song finds Bryan lamenting a doomed relationship. His lover has left him and the singer desperately misses her. He hopes against hope that this isn't the end, but "somethin' in the orange" tells Bryan she's never coming home.
• There are two versions of "Something in the Orange." Ryan Hadlock produced and mixed the original at Bear Creek Studio in Washington State, and Bryan recorded the "Z&E" version at Electric Lady Studios in New York City with longtime producer Eddie Spear. • "Something In The Orange" is one of the tracks on All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster Live From Red Rocks, a surprise live album Bryan dropped on December 25, 2022. The album captures the 24-song set he played at Red Rocks Ampitheater in Morrison, Colorado, on November 3, 2022. The singer recounts in his song "The Greatest Day Of My Life" how heavy snow fell throughout the show.
  
  Bryan is vocal about the exorbitant fees Ticketmaster charge, which can nearly double the price of a ticket. "Seems there is a massive issue with fair ticket prices to live shows lately," he shared. "I have met kids at my shows who have paid upwards of four-hundred bucks to be there, and I'm done with it."
  
  Bryan makes clear his distaste for the world's largest ticket vendor with the album title.
• The song climbed to #1 on the Country chart dated January 1, 2023, giving Bryan his first chart-topper.
• The song gradually became a crossover smash as it slowly ascended the Hot 100. It finally reached the Top 10 in its 38th week on the chart.
• Ryan Hadlock's production on "Something in the Orange" utilized vintage mics and gear. "Sometimes old equipment is better at capturing emotion, and part of it is having a good room," he noted to Billboard. "I think people don't always realize how much an instrument the room is that people are playing in."
  
  Hadlock added that his goal was a recording that sounded like Bryan was "playing right in front of you" and would make "people listen to it and say, 'Wow, that's an amazing live recording.'"
