Songfacts®:

  • "The Good I'll Do" is a love song where Zach Bryan explains how his romantic interest brings out the best in him.

    Oh, the good I'll do
    Well in You
    I'm new

Since he started seeing her, Bryan has had a new lease on life.
  • Bryan wrote and recorded this passionate tribute to new love for his American Heartbreak album. His longtime producer, Eddie Spear, manned the boards.
  • The song plays in full on the 4th episode of the 5th season of the American drama series Yellowstone. It soundtracks a ranching scene where the characters drive their cattle to get branded.

It's not the first time Bryan's music has featured in the series. "Condemned," from his 2019 debut album DeAnn, played at the very end of season 3 episode 2, and another DeAnn track, "Flying or Crying," closed season 4, episode 5. DeAnn, which Bryan self-released in May 2020, was named after his late mother.
