Songfacts®:

  • This is the closing track of Russian American singer/songwriter Nika Roza Danilova - aka Zola Jesus' - third studio album, Conatus. The LP title is a term that refers to the momentum to keep evolving.
  • Danilova explained this song's meaning to NME: "It's saying that once the audience goes away I have nothing else. People are like 'Oh that's so beautiful, you're so histrionic.' But I'm like: this is all I have, man. I don't have anything else. And the day you guys stop listening… well, what am I going to do?"
