Songfacts®:

  • ZZ Ward told Artist Direct this song was written using an experimental method:

"'Miracle' came out about in an interesting way. I wrote with my producers F1 and Epic. We went into the studio and I knew I wanted to write a song that started slow and building. I wanted it to take you into a journey to the chorus and kick up and start moving. I had an idea of what I wanted to do. We didn't plan it out.

We went into the live room, where they cut live instruments, shut the door, sat down at the piano, started writing a song. The other producer started in the other room, working on the track. I did the chorus, went into the other room. We finished and then came into the studio, sang the song over the track. I sang it over the track. We took chances, you can't do everything that way."
