  • Tilling my own grave to keep me level
Jam another dragon down the hole
Digging to the rhythm and the echo of a solitary siren
One that pushes me along and leaves me so

    Desperate and ravenous
    I'm so weak and powerless
    Over you

Someone feed the monkey while I
    Dig in search of China
White as Dracula as I approach the bottom

    Desperate and ravenous
    I'm so weak and powerless
    Over you

    Little angel go away
    Come again some other day
The devil has my ear today
I'll never hear a word you say
He promised I would find a little solace
    And some piece of mind
Whatever just as long as I don't feel so

    Desperate and ravenous
    I'm so weak and powerless
    Desperate and ravenous
    I'm so weak and powerless
    Over you

Over you Writer/s: Billy Howerdel, Maynard James Keenan

  • Squid from Los Angeles, CaThe Whole Band has stated that this album (13th Step)is a theme album and Is not only in refference to drug addiction it self, but what the 13th step to the 12 step programs is, which is deailing with the world (More so you and ones who love you) perceptions of you and your addiction. For The song Weak And Powerless, It is the perception of ones addiction as told to them by the 12 step program. As if Saying "I can not overcome this addiction so forever am i weak and powerless". it is now the perception of most doctor that this way of thinking will only Cause a drug addict to use drugs repetedly again. that they must over come the thought of addiction having a gip on thier lives.
