  • Ah, ah, ah, ah

    I believe
    Them bones are me
    Some say
    We're born into the grave

    I feel so alone
Gonna end up a big ol' pile of them bones

    Ah, ah, ah

    Dust rise
    Right on over my time
    Empty fossil
    Of the new scene

    I feel so alone
Gonna end up a big ol' pile of them bones

    Yeah

    Toll due
    Bad dream come true
    I lie
    Dead gone under red sky

    I feel so alone
Gonna end up a big ol' pile of them

    I feel so alone
Gonna end up a big ol' pile of them

    I feel so alone
Gonna end up a big ol' pile of them bones Writer/s: Jerry Cantrell

I completely agree! I'm in your age range too, and I've lived rock my whole life, thanks dad. Today's music is so annoying and meaningless, I have no idea how people stand it. Them Bones has always been one of my favorites from AIC and it is way too short of a song.
  • Luna Loud from Royal Woods, MichiganGuitars tuned to drop-d flat. The beat for the verses is in 7/8 time while the chorus is is in 8/8 time. Killer guitar solo, probably one of, if not Cantrell's best with AIC, and the harmonies are top-notch, as usual. All in all a rockin' tune!
  • Libby from New Orleans, LaIt's a shame that AIC is not as well known as they should be; their talent is second-to-none! But hey, they made their mark where it counts and I love them SO bad!
  • Caitlyn from Royersford, PaCOOLEST GUITAR SOLO EVER!! Get's me worked up every time. Definitely one of their more rock sounding songs
  • Alex from Atlanta, GaI am so sick of the music of today. I mean every kid thinks that their emo/pop/punk music is the best thing ever. They can't even begin to grasp the concept of how lame it really is. I mean I'm 15 and I can't stand the crap that they listen to. Like All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, and MEtro Station, etc. I mean really. Get a taste in music. My friend is all retro/techno punk or whatever and I tried to get her into AIC and she was like "Eew. I don't listen to THAT crap." I was like "WHAT?!" you feel me?
  • Andrej from Bratislava, SlovakiaThis is typical dark, gloomy AIC lyrics. It's not only about mortality but also about desilusion and meaninglessness of life. "I feel so alone, gonna end up a
Big ole pile a them bones" "Dust rise right on over my time
Empty fossil of the new scene"

  • Daniel from Winchester, OhIm absolutely in love with this song, It is a kick ass song, even know my friend hates it, I still listen to it all the time to piss him off
  • Jordan from Sardinia, Ohi like the intensity of this song. lol
  • Oldpink from New Castle, InSimply vicious guitar and malevolent vocals.
Great, typically dark song from AiC, and it's a killer.
  • Nicole from North Syracuse, United Statesto Lisa, Vandergrift, PA:

    I DEFFF agree w/ ya----a great song ;)
  • Kermsit from Plainfield, IlWell theres a few bands these days that sound like AIC...Dropbox for an example...thats all i can think off!! lmao and another band 10 second drop!
  • Grungeluver from Dease Lake, BcDying is a very morbid thing that people come across thinking about once in a while. This song expresses the lonleyness of dying on ones own. Although i believe he had his own self to blame, Layne Staley died very alone in 2002
    RIP Layne Staley
  • Jeff from Austin, TxGod, what a super smokin tune!! I remember this song came out about a week or so before Dirt was released. Back in the days before Internet leaks (internet period) MTV was the only place me and my buddies could hear it until the album came out. We would watch for it religiously all day every day, and call each other whenever it was on.
  • Shawn from Frostburg, MdI seen Alice in Chains in San Fran in 1991 when they were nobodies. They opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and blew them off the stage.
They came up with a whole new heavy sound. My buddy coined the phrase "Slow Heavy" to describe their sound and I think that is a great explaination...
  • Dortez from Mesa, AzI love Alice in Chains, i dont really think godsmack sound too much like them. I think the lyrics to the song are pretty neat though. "Told you, that bad dreams come true." most probably wont believe me but i got into Alice in chains by watching the street fighter 2 animated movie. It happened to have them bone on it and i was hooked.
  • Max from Boston, Mai saw this song live when i was 12 in boston a couple months ago! the played with VR
  • P from Z, United Statesactually lisa, Godsmack sound damn similar to alice, probably due to the fact they were heavily influenced by them
  • Austin from Surprise, AzI love playing this song on guitar hero
  • Seth from New Kensington, PaI agree as well. Alice in Chains is one my favorite groups. There sound is very unique. This song is a very good song along with all of their songs.
  • Lisa from Vandergrift, PaSorry Tina. Don't know when you put in your comment, I just joined in on the "Songfacts" fun. I agree with you. Alice In Chains is one of the best bands ever. NOBODY sounds like them, or will ever sound like them. What more can you say?
  • Tina from Monterey, Cano comments on this song?!?! love this song.
