  • All I can ever be to you is a darkness that we knew
And this regret I got accustomed to
    Once it was so right
When we were at our height
Waiting for ya in the hotel at night
    I knew I hadn't met my match
But every moment we could snatch
I don't know why I got so attached
    It's my responsibility
You don't owe nothing to me
But to walk away, I have no capacity

    He walks away
    The sun goes down
He takes the day, but I'm grown (I'm grown)
    And in your way
    In this blue shade
My tears dry on their own

    I don't understand
Why do I stress the man
When there's so many bigger things at hand?
We could've never had it all
We had to hit a wall
    So this is inevitable withdrawal
Even if I stop wanting you
    And perspective pushes through
I'll be some next man's other woman soon
    I cannot play myself again
I should just be my own best friend
Not fuck myself in the head with stupid men

    He walks away
    The sun goes down
He takes the day, but I'm grown (I'm grown)
    And in your way
    In this blue shade
My tears dry on their own

    So we are history
    Your shadow covers me
    The sky above ablaze

    He walks away
    The sun goes down
He takes the day, but I'm grown
    And in your way
    In this blue shade
My tears dry on their own

I wish I could say no regrets
    And no emotional debts
'Cause as we kissed goodbye, the sun sets
    So we are history
    Your shadow covers me
    The sky above ablaze
    That only lovers see

    He walks away
    The sun goes down
He takes the day, but I'm grown (I'm grown)
    And in your way
    My blue shade
My tears dry on their own

    Whoa, he walks away
    The sun goes down
He takes the day, but I am grown
    And in your way
    My deep shade
My tears dry on their own, whoa

    He walks away
    The sun goes down
He takes the day, but I'm grown
    And in your way
    My deep shade

  • Si from Auckland, New ZealandI was listening to this song over and over again when I was in unrequited love with a guy. Although I wish he, or someone, could wipe away the tears, ultimately it is only you who can save yourself, and you grow because of that. It is sad in a way, that you're picking up the pieces, but it's good at the same time that you're growing stronger. I really like how this song reflects this confused sense of loss and gain at the same time.
  • Stingrae from Washington, DcRegardless of what she may be going thru, Amy Winehouse is a Phenomenal singer. She's a typical person who goes thru typical issues like everyone else in the world. She just happens to be in the spotlight because of her fame. I'd love to be included in a Jam session with her or sing for/with her. Amy, God is your ONLY judge and I'll keep you in my prayers.
  • Amy from Liverpool, United KingdomAmy's a brilliant singer but she needs to get her act together if shes ever going to be seen seriously in the eyes of the public.
  • Tiffany from Little Rock, ArThis is a really nice, uptempo arrangement of A&S's original tune. I think it's also the most "uplifting" of songs on Back to Black, as this is the song where Amy realizes she's "grown" and can get on without her ex.
  • Freya from Walsall, United KingdomIT IS AREALLY GREAT SONG
AND AMY WINEHOUSE IS REALLY TALENTED SO I THINK SHE IS FANTASTIC
