  • It's time for your medication Mr. Brown
    Mwahaha

White coats to bind me, out of control
I live alone inside my mind
World of confusion, air filled with noise
Who says that my life's such a crime?

    Trapped, in this nightmare
    I wish I'd wake
As my whole life begins to shake
    Four walls, surround me
    An empty gaze
I can't find my way out of this maze

    'Cause I don't care
    Fall in, fall out
Gone without a doubt, help me
    I can't take the blame
    They don't feel the shame

    It's a madhouse
    Or so they claim
    It's a madhouse
    Oh, am I insane?

My fears behind me, what can I do?
My dreams haunt my sleep at night
Oh no, won't learn their lesson, white fills my eyes
And only then they see the light

    Trapped, in this nightmare
    I wish I'd wake
Then my whole life begins to shake
    Four walls, surround me
    An empty gaze
I can't find my way out of this maze

    'Cause I don't care
    Fall in, fall out
Gone without a doubt, help me
    Can't take the blame
    I don't feel the shame

    Cause it's a madhouse
    Or so they claim
    It's a madhouse
    I'm insane

    Trapped in this nightmare
    I wish I'd wake
As my whole life begins to shake
    Four walls, surround me
    An empty gaze
Can't find my way out of this maze

    'Cause I don't care
    Fall in, fall out
Gone without a doubt, help me
    Can't take the blame
    They don't feel the shame

    It's a madhouse
    Or so they claim
    It's a madhouse
    I'm insane

    A, a, a, a (madhouse)
    Ma-a-a-adhouse

  • The Weary Dragon from Somewhere ElseTo two comments below, it could totally take place in an insane asylum, or in a prison, and that's great! But I personally don't really think that's the point. It take place, metaphorically, in someone's life. They begin by being told that they're insane, they're given reasons to doubt themselves, and as it goes on, they go from sane and confused, to losing themselves, to completely mad. Or maybe they were always mad, and finally were convinced of that. Does it matter either way? It's a madhouse!

(it does matter, people are made far worse being trapped in things that force them to doubt and hate themselves, but yah know)
  • Diverdriver from Petaluma, CaDoctor Greg House says this could be about a prison. Watch the video and listen to the lyrics. It's about a nuthouse. "4 walls surround me" - a prison cell has 3 walls and bars. Definitely about a mental institution which is probably where Doctor should be!
  • Buggrithall from Mindyourownbusiness, United KingdomDamn fine song like virtually all Anthrax prior to 'State of Euphoria'
  • Doctor Greg House from Princeton-plainsboro, NjThis song really sucks. The above poster says the song is about a mental institution but it could also very well be about a prison.
