  • Are you aware of what you make me feel? Baby
Right now I feel invisible to you, like I'm not real
Didn't you feel me lock my arms around you?
    Why'd you turn away?
Here's what I have to say

I was left to cry there
    Waiting outside there
    Grinning with a lost stare
    That's when I decided

    Why should I care?
'Cause you weren't there when I was scared
    I was so alone
    You, you need to listen
    I'm starting to trip
I'm losing my grip and I'm in this thing alone

Am I just some chick you place beside you
    To take somebody's place?
When you turn around can you recognize my face?
You used to love me, you used to hug me
    But that wasn't the case
    Everything wasn't okay

I was left to cry there
    Waiting outside there
    Grinning with a lost stare
    That's when I decided

    Why should I care?
'Cause you weren't there when I was scared
    I was so alone
    You, you need to listen
    I'm starting to trip
I'm losing my grip and I'm in this thing alone

Crying out loud, I'm crying out loud
Crying out loud, I'm crying out loud

    Open your eyes
    Open up wide

    Why should I care?
    'Cause you weren't there
    When I was scared
    I was so alone

    Why should I care?
    'Cause you weren't there
    When I was scared
    I was so alone
    Why should I care?
    If you don't care then
    I don't care
    We're not going anywhere

    Why should I care?
    'Cause you weren't there
    When I was scared
    I was so alone
    Why should I care?
    If you don't care then
    I don't care
We're not going anywhere Writer/s: Avril Lavigne, Clif Magness

  • Mike from IllinoisI've always thought Avril had a great voice and I think this is one of my favorites because it really demonstrates her power and her talent. Her voice during the softer parts is so clear and clean, even with the note changes. She has this Joan Jet/Pat Benatar bad girl persona, but it's just an act. This song and others like it really display her talent and provide a peek at the real person.
  • Lilly from A City, NyWhen I was a kid, I loved this song, just because of how awesome it is! Now I have a reason to love it; my ex boyfriend fits this song perfectly; he wasn't there when I was going through a rough time, he's very confused in terms of love and I just might've been someone who was there to replace someone else.
No matter what, singing it gets out all my anger when I think of him!
  • Theresa from Murfreesboro, TnThe only song I feel is truly her.
  • Bethanii from Okc, Okpretty amazing. :]
  • P-dog from Muncie, InI work in a grocery store, and this is one of those songs that is played way too much. I don't get it - if he doesn't care, and she doesn't care, why should I give a crap?
  • Heather from Pittsburg, PaThis is such a spectacular song..i love it..I told my boyfriend that if he ever does anything to ever make me P.O he'd better run...
  • Charlene from Maryville, Tnthis is my song for the day.... i got told by a guy last night that i am his place holder since he doesnt have a girlfriend right now

    Am I just some chick
    You placed beside you
    To take somebody's place
    When you turn around
    Can you recognize my face
    You used to love me
    You used to hug me
    But that wasn't the case
    Everything wasn't ok
  • Morgan from Gresham, Orthis and my happy ending are my break up song always
  • Morgan from Gratnsville, Utthis is an awesome song and avril is an awesome singer
  • Annie from Houston, Txo love this song she almost speaks for me when she says why should i care, and i can live easier knowing those were the last words my b/f heard from me
  • Emma from Auckland, New ZealandThe best female anger song since you oughta know but YOK is still beta ;-)
  • Sara from Anoka, Mni noticed that, most of her songs, u can always tie back to a bad relationship, especially her under my skin album.
  • Daisy from Ikast, DenmarkWell actually her songs may not be about boys. Maybe she's just making it sound like it's about boys. Many artists do that.
  • Jade from Ottawa, CanadaHas anyone ever noticed that she always goes on about how she'd rather rough house with the boys than kiss them, but most of her songs are about guys?
  • Holly from Newcastle, EnglandI feel as if my boyfriend dosn't give a damn, so I listen to this song to let out my anger!
  • Shana from Radcliff, Kylavigne talk about how a guy can be there with you phsically, but not emotionally...you care about him so much, but when you need a hand to hold the most, he just doesn't give a damn!
  • Angel from Tauranga, New ZealandThis is my favourite song off the album
