  • Listen to the song here in my heart
    A melody I start, but can't complete
Listen to the sound from deep within
It's only beginning to find release

Oh, the time has come for my dreams to be heard
They will not be pushed aside and turned
Into your own, all 'cause you won't listen

Listen, I am alone at a crossroads
I'm not at home in my own home
    And I've tried and tried
To say what's on my mind
    You should have known, oh
    Now I'm done believing you
You don't know what I'm feeling
    I'm more than what
    You've made of me
I followed the voice, you gave to me
But now I've gotta find my own
    You should have listened

    There is someone here inside
    Someone I thought had died
    So long ago

    Oh, I'm screaming out
And my dreams will be heard
They will not be pushed aside or worse
    Into your own
    All 'cause you won't listen

Listen, I am alone at a crossroads
I'm not at home in my own home
    And I've tried and tried
To say what's on my mind
    You should have known, oh
    Now I'm done believing you
You don't know what I'm feeling
    I'm more than what
    You've made of me
I followed the voice, you gave to me
But now I've gotta find my own

    I don't know where I belong
    But I'll be moving on
If you don't, if you won't

Listen to the song here in my heart
A melody I start, but I will complete, oh
    Now I'm done believing you
You don't know what I'm feeling
I'm more than what you've made of me
I followed the voice you think you gave to me
But now I've gotta find my own, my own Writer/s: Anne Preven, Beyonce Gisselle Knowles, Henry Krieger, Scott Michael Cutler

  • Janie Kelly from Indianapolis, inwow oh wow, i thought the song she sang I'd rather go blind was one of the best, untill i heard this song, i never followed beyonce before closely, but she certainly has a new fan that is 65 years old, but knows a great vocalist,, i wish i would of followed earlier, but now isolated, i have a lot of time to catch up...lol..pls stay safe, and listen to a different artist, my late husband introduced tony bennett's music to me ,i was into rock lol, and many years later i introduced him to gaga, imagine that and then history was made in the music world, always try a new sound or artist...it opened up my life, janie kelly much love
  • Mathew from 23i love beyonces songs
  • Lisa from Lawrence, NyNot the biggest Bey fan here, but she knocks this one OUT OF THE PARK!!!!! To me its the "every married woman" song, her dreams are put on hold, her man just won't listen and she finally finds herself again, feels those old dreams bubbling up inside, remembers who SHE is, apart from WE, and it just goes from a light flicker to an all out EXPLOSION of emotion. I know I cry every time I hear it, like bawling, get me the whole tissue box, tears. I bring it up to my married friends and they are all like "YES! That's how I feel too!" I SO wish Bey would do more of this (this proves she has the chops to do it!) and less of the "check out my rear" stuff. She is BEAUTIFUL and can be a class act when she chooses. Not that I mind the "fun stuff" ("Crazy in Love", "Single Ladies" "Ring the Alarm"etc), but I feel like she demeans herself with the "booty" stuff. She is more than a
"booty", she should respect herself, like she does here. But I guess the "fans" like the "booty" stuff, that is what pays the bills (Bills, Bills, Bills"?), so I sort of get it.
  • Merqury from Accra, GhanaImpeccable vocals by Beyonce on this song.
  • Katy from Portland, Ori can relate to this song because a lot of times i feel like my voice or opinion isn't hurt or doesn't matter. it's inspiring to me.
