  • I got a pocket full of quarters, and I'm headed to the arcade.
    I don't have a lot of money, but I'm bringing everything I made.
    I've got a callus on my finger, and my shoulder's hurting too.
    I'm gonna eat them all up, just as soon as they turn blue.

    [Chorus]
    'Cause I've got Pac-Man fever;
    Pac-Man fever.
    It's driving me crazy.
    Driving me crazy.
    I've got Pac-Man fever;
    Pac-Man fever.
    I'm going out of my mind.
    Going out of my mind.
    I've got Pac-Man fever;
    Pac-Man fever.
    I'm going out of my mind.
    Going out of my mind.

    I've got all the patterns down, up until the ninth key.
    I've got Speedy on my tail, and I know it's either him or me.
    So I'm heading out the back door and in the other side;
    Gonna eat the cherries up and take them all for a ride.

    [Chorus]

    I'm gonna fake it to the left, and move to the right;
    'Cause Pokey's too slow, and Blinky's out of sight.

    Now I've got them on the run, and I'm looking for the high score;
    So it's once around the block, And I'll slide back out the side door.
    I'm really cookin' now, eating everything in sight.
    All my money's gone, so I'll be back tomorow night.

    'Cause I've got Pac-Man fever;
    Pac-Man fever.
    It's driving me crazy.
    Driving me crazy.
    I've got Pac-Man fever;
    Pac-Man fever.
    I'm going out of my mind.
    Going out of my mind.

  • Geena814 from West CoastThis song reminds me of my first love and the consequential heartbreak. "I've got a callus on my finger, and my shoulder's hurting too"-doing manual labor on the farm brought my love to me. She was an escort, but because I was working all summer, I had saved enough to spend my weekends with her and her coworkers. "Gonna eat the cherries up and take them all for a ride"-the young escorts were ripe for the pickin-like fine cherries. And boy did we ride..."So I'm headinging out the back door and in the other side"-going from one position to another. Good times... "All my money's gone, so I'll be back tomorrow night". Wow, this totally brings me back...the good ol days! I miss those hoes!

    At the time "Pac-Man Fever" was at position #10 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, the following week it would peak at #9 {for 2 weeks} and it spent nineteen weeks on the Top 100...
    A month later on April 20th it also peaked at #9 {for 2 weeks} on the Canadian RPM Singles chart...
    Buckner and Garcia had one other charted record, but not on the Top 100 chart, their "Do The Donkey Kong" reached #103 on Billboard's Bubbling Under The Top 100 chart...
  • Brian from Boston, MaThis may very well be the best song of all time.A song by wich every other song will be measured. .When I think of legends in the music industry the first names that come to mind are Buckner and Garcia. If I remember correctly Pacman fever is the biggest selling single of all time.When I saw Buckner and Garcia live in 82 at a sold out Madison Square Garden I knew I was seeing history unfold. When they announced their breakup in 84 I don't think any of us will ever forget where we were or what we were doing when we heard the news much like the Kennedy assasination or 9/11 Pacman fever is one of of those songs that comes around only once in a liftime. Even though it is still constantly played on the radio I will never get sick of it
  • Stormy from Northport, MiThose were the days.
